  • Day 1

November 30, 2020 - All times in UTC

  • Join our launch session to get an overview of how the week works, see all the faces who will plan to be joining throughout the week, meet the organising team and learn about how to keep informed about sessions through the week and learn about the tools we will use to support the conference.

    Core Sessions

  • How can we develop global narratives and overarching strategic messages in harmony with local and tactical communications?

  • What does a green and just recovery mean in your context? How can progress on making the recovery greener and more equitable in different places, with different realities, help build momentum for better campaign impact globally?

  • Day 2

December 1, 2020 - All times in UTC

  • You are invited to a supportive conversation with others in the movement; for a more personal dialogue. Whether you are flourishing, struggling or somewhere in between, you are welcome to share your experiences. In this session we aim to give support to each other and witness our shared experience, rather than fix a specific problem.

  • A session exploring how different skills and experience have been important or helpful in delivering our work in 2020, and how beliefs, values and purpose may have changed or strengthened in response to the crises. Analysing these, we seek common insights across the group to develop some foundational points to spark discussing in the Global Strategy Session.

    Core Sessions

  • What gave you the greatest sense of connection while you have been kept apart? What tools have overcome physical separation to enable collaboration, solidarity or organising? What has mattered most to keep human relationships strong? An exploration of what we can learn from the trials of the year and how we can turn this year's adversity into greater resilience and strength for the future.

  • Food waste and the global footprint of food supply chains are central to tackling the climate crisis. The pandemic has shown how vulnerable the food system can be. How might city food procurement and urban or peri urban agriculture combine with organic waste management to deliver healthier more resilience cities?

  • Movements, funders and NGOs often struggle with discussing and addressing the lack of diversity in our movement. In this session you will have the opportunity to share with each other examples of evironmental work by / for people who are not usually represented. Using the frame of intersectionality we will then explore who could and should be more represented in our respective contexts and what remedying that could bring to the movement.

  • An informal session to discuss successes, hopes and victories. Bring a drink or snack appropriate to you and your time of day and spend some time appreciating the positives with friends.

  • Day 3

December 2, 2020 - All times in UTC

  • What does a green and just recovery mean in your context? How can progress on making the recovery greener and more equitable in different places, with different realities, help build momentum for better campaign impact globally?

  • The stark, unjust reality of how power is held has been a prominent topic this year. It goes to the heart of the vision and values of the climate movement. Unequal power structures and patterns of behaviour exist between and within funders and movements. How can we redistribute power more justly and how could doing so grow movements' strength and impact?

  • The youth movement has transformed the climate debate. How can youth activism become more resilient and what is the role of the rest of the climate movement in showing solidarity and support for younger activists?

  • Join one of the organisations in our community to hear about their organising principles and the secret to making it happen. This session will provide practical insights to the What and How of a campaign win.
